At Spectrum Housing Assist, some of our volunteers double as dads. High-five to that. This Father’s Day, we’re especially proud to highlight a few of our stellar employee dads who volunteer, like Samuel, Maurice and Dustin. They instill the importance of giving back to their families, and demonstrate Spectrum’s commitment to service in the community. Keep reading to learn more.
Samuel, a Dad Willing to Go the Extra Mile
Samuel, a Spectrum employee in Florida, is a father of two toddlers, and a two-time rebuild volunteer. During a rebuild in Melbourne, Florida he even offered to return to the house at a later date to follow up if more repairs were needed.
“Helping out the community is always something I like to do. People need help … For my kid, I always tell him to help out people and everything. I actually already instilled that in him,” said Samuel, who works in commercial sales support.
Maurice, a Business Analyst By Day
At a community center rebuild in New York City, our colleague Maurice paused while he was volunteering to reflect on the joys of fatherhood.
“My favorite part about being a dad is really watching my son grow into the man that he’s becoming,” said Maurice, a business analyst in corporate marketing. “I think that’s the … best thing about having a son. You want to see him grow and mature and be a productive citizen. He’s doing that.”
Dustin, a Volunteer at Heart
Dustin is celebrating this Father’s Day in Ohio with his nearly 2-year-old son. He’s excited to host a cookout and spend time with family. “My favorite part about Father’s day is that I am officially part of an elite group of men who get to raise the next generation of leaders and fathers,” said Dustin.
As an inbound sales rep for Spectrum, Dustin understands the value of hard work in all aspects of life. “Volunteering is important because it helps build the community for future generations. I want my son to see that a strong work ethic is one of the foundations to being a good man,” he said.
Happy Father’s Day!
Samuel, Maurice, and Dustin are joined by countless other Spectrum employee volunteers who are also fathers. There’s Michael in Clarksville, Tennessee and Will in Montgomery, Alabama. Both drove more than three hours to volunteer at a rebuild. Marcus in Montgomery, Alabama even brought his son along to join in the fun.
Thank you, and a Happy Father’s Day to all of our volunteer dads!
